Buenos Aires, January 26 (NA) — An athlete from the Argentine BMX freestyle team crashed on Route 2 while on vacation to Mar del Plata. As a result of the accident, four people were injured, one of them seriously.

The incident occurred on Monday morning at kilometer 86 of Route 2 when police personnel responded to an emergency call about a Volkswagen Gol that had gone off the road and ended up on the shoulder. At the scene, officers confirmed that there were four young men, aged 19 and 20, with various injuries inside the vehicle.

The car was being driven by Valentino Villalba (19), an athlete on the Argentine BMX freestyle team in the bicycle category, who suffered multiple polytrauma. He was accompanied by Emiliano Bello (19), who suffered serious injuries and was transferred to the Romero Hospital in La Plata by ambulance.

Meanwhile, Dilan Joan Clauser (20) has multiple polytrauma and cuts, but is out of danger. Also injured was Jeremias Caram (19), who was also taken to the Chascomús Hospital. The case was filed as 'culpable injuries due to a crash'.
